Gratitude and Transitions

In 2008, I opened Nandi Yoga as a place to support students of all levels with authentic, empowering, compassionate and inspiring yoga in an environment that treads lightly on the earth and gives back to our community.

I’ve seen many changes and faced numerous challenges over these last 18 years but our community of dedicated teachers and staff and amazing students have been there for us and helped us to continue with our mission. I cannot acknowledge enough the deep gratitude I feel to all of you for the confidence and support you have given us, and it has been a real honor to have been a part of growing our Satsang (yoga community).

Running a small business is hard, even more so a physically demanding one teaching yoga. I have reached a stage in life where running a business and teaching a full schedule is starting to push my limits.  I have always hoped that our community would grow and sustain to the point where I would eventually find someone who could build on what we have started and take Nandi to the next level.  My goal was to find an incredible person who has been deeply involved in our community who knows, feels and lives our mission.

Diane McIntyre started taking classes at Nandi in February 2018. She joined the Front Desk Staff in April 2018 to help build our early morning program. Upon graduating from Nandi’s 200 Hour Teacher Training Program in the Fall of 2019, she started teaching at the studio and continued to build her skills with trainings in kid’s, prenatal, Yin, Restorative, Core and Jivamukti Yoga. In April 2024, she took over as our Studio Manager and have been increasingly taken on the operations side of the business. I am pleased to announce that effective January 1, Diane will be the new owner of Nandi Yoga!!!!

Diane is a phenomenal human being, a committed and wonderful teacher, and someone whom I believe has the passion and love to keep Nandi special, bona fide and inclusive.

I am fully committed to Nandi: I will continue teaching public and private classes, workshops and trainings (for as long as I am physically able and for as long you want me to) and I will be there for Diane in any way she needs.

It is not always easy to change roles, especially since Nandi Yoga is kind of like my child (from inception to “adulthood” – it has been 18 years since we signed our first lease)!  But I have no doubt that this community will continue to grow and thrive under Diane’s leadership, and I look forward to continuing to be a part of this amazing community.

Namaste,

Wendy

A New Chapter at Nandi

Dear Nandi Community,

I am deeply honored and incredibly grateful to step into the new role of owner at Nandi Yoga. For 18 years, Wendy has poured her heart, wisdom, and vision into creating a space grounded in authenticity, compassion, sustainability, and community. Nandi Yoga stands where it is today because of Wendy’s devotion, tireless work, and steadfast faith in the strength of community. It is an honor to follow in the footsteps of someone who has built not only a studio, but a vibrant, living Satsang through years of care and commitment.

I joined Nandi as a student in early 2018. When I first walked into Nandi I immediately felt a sense of community, and support. From the greetings at the front desk to the experienced teachers whose classes I’d take, I kept wanting to come back. That feeling drew me deeper into the community—from working front desk, to getting my 200-hour certification, then into teaching, and eventually into the role of Studio Manager. Each step along this path has allowed me to experience Nandi from every angle: as a student, a helper, a teacher, and a caretaker of the space we share. Through it all, I have felt nothing but gratitude for the teachers, staff and community that make up Nandi.

I want to express my deepest appreciation to Wendy—for her mentorship and the confidence she has placed in me. Her dedication to Nandi has made a profound impact on me and an example of how to support this precious community. I am humbled to carry on the mission she established, and I am committed to upholding the values that have guided Nandi from the start.

As we step into this next chapter, I want to reassure you that the heart of Nandi will remain unchanged. The teachings, traditions, and spirit that have always defined Nandi will continue to be with us. Wendy has created a rare and precious space, and my intention is to preserve that essence while thoughtfully supporting its continued growth. I look forward to deepening our existing programs, exploring new offerings that align with our mission, and strengthening the bonds within our community.

I want to thank you all for being a part of this journey. It is because of your dedication and presence that Nandi has flourished, and it is with you that it will continue to grow. I am excited to connect with you all—whether you are taking a class or talking at the front desk. Please don’t hesitate to connect with me as we go through this transition together.

I am beyond grateful that Wendy will continue teaching classes here at Nandi and continue to share her wealth of knowledge through our training programs. Her continued presence will be an anchor for us all as we move forward.

With gratitude and love,

Diane
